From the Elysian Fields

Very relaxed.

Barry has now joined some other ceramics on the wall in Liscahill and appears very happy there!

Strange things - I was unpacking stuff from school and I discovered there had been some form of leak of something onto a couple of etch plates:

I am wondering now if I can preserve this surface and perhaps print from it - the original aleatory art : Cage eat your heart out!

Other stuff that has gone on the wall at home has been one of the unique collographs done in last semester and now framed:

The other event that has happened recently was a visit to two of the EVA venues, the first one being LCGA:

These are two large wall pieces (site-specific) from Mona Hatoum (Egypt) -I was particularly delighted to see these because she was one of the artists I used in my contextual notebook last year - I would lov e to have been there when she was doing the work and to have met her and talked about Egypt because for a while I was in contact with the Egyptian author Ahdaf Souef and I hope that she has been Ok since the problems there. EVA is about Agitation so the subject is relevant.

Herre are some details from more of Hatoum's work:

Liked this.

...........and these

The second site I visited was in the old Golden Vale plant on the other side of the river - Michael Canning had said to me that I should see it just for the site alone -how right he was ; I took a lot of shots - here is a selection:

The art was good too.....

Will be here - going to a two - day bookbinding course over the weekend.
